O’Raifeartaigh models with general R-charge assignments can have vacua where both supersymmetry and R-symmetry are spontaneously broken. We study the question of whether spontaneous U(1)R breaking can occur in O’Raifeartaightype models of spontaneous supersymmetry breaking.
